QME was appointed to deliver specialist underground rehabilitation works at the historic Avoca Mines in County Wicklow, Ireland. Once one of Europe’s most significant copper mining districts, the Avoca mines are now the focus of an extensive environmental remediation programme aimed at improving public safety, protecting the environment and preserving an important part of Ireland’s industrial heritage.
Drawing on decades of underground mining and civil engineering experience, QME provided specialist solutions to stabilise historic mine workings, rehabilitate underground infrastructure and safely carry out works within one of Ireland’s most challenging former mining environments.
