QME has successfully delivered specialist underground mining services for Somincor (Sociedade Mineira de Neves-Corvo S.A.) at the Neves-Corvo Mine in southern Portugal. One of Europe’s largest underground base-metal mining operations, Neves-Corvo is internationally recognised for its high-grade copper, zinc and lead deposits and has been a major producer of base metals since mining commenced in 1988. The operation currently forms part of the Boliden Group, following its acquisition from Lundin Mining in 2025.
Working within an active underground mining environment, QME provided specialist rehabilitation and underground development services, supporting the ongoing expansion of one of Europe’s most productive underground mines through safe, efficient and technically demanding mining operations.
