QME has been providing specialist underground mining services at Saint-Gobain Gypsum’s Drummond Mine in County Monaghan, Ireland. The Drummond Mine forms part of Ireland’s only indigenous gypsum mining operation, supplying raw materials for plasterboard, plaster, cement and agricultural products throughout Ireland and export markets.

By combining specialist ground support expertise, rehabilitation services and underground engineering capability, QME helps ensure the long-term sustainability and productivity of the operation. The Drummond underground mine, together with the adjacent Knocknacran operation, produces approximately 300,000 to 500,000 tonnes of gypsum annually, supplying the only indigenous source of gypsum on the island of Ireland.
