QME was founded in 1985 by managing director Peter McParland, following a long family tradition in mining. QME is comprised of the following divisions.
Mining & Tunnelling Contracting
QME Mining Division undertakes contract mining projects in Ireland and abroad. The mining division employs a team of highly experienced operations Managers, underground supervisors, miners, fitters and electricians. QME has carried out large and small scale underground development contracts since 2009.
Current and past clients include:
- New Boliden Tara Mines: 2009 – Present, in excess of 14 kilometres of Development Mining. Installation of underground services. Dedicated Ore Mucking & Trucking contract. Ore management on surface and underground. Complete shotcreting process from manufacture to delivery and application.
- Saint Gobian Gyproc Drummond Mine, Monaghan 2014 – Present, various ground support projects.
- Dalradian Gold Limited Curraghinalt Project, Omagh, Northern Ireland 2014 – Present Underground Bulk Sample Development Project.
Lafarge Holcim, Glensanda Super Quarry, Oban, Scotland. Feb 2013 to July 2014. Underground Extension Tunnels, Chamber and Raise Development.
Sales & Rentals
QME offer rental and ownership opportunities for new and used mining and tunnelling equipment. QME has over 35 years experience in the Mining and Tunnelling Industries. As a result of industry involvement QME has established close associations with globally recognised OEMs, allowing us to offer the end user the equipment of choice with lowest possible total cost of ownership. Our full range of new mining & tunneling equipment are backed with full factory warranty, technical support, OEM parts and a network of local and regional service centres.
Our various business models are designed with Mining Companies & Tunneling Contractors in mind, as well as Start-up mining operations which may wish to defer spending capital on expensive equipment for use in another area until positive cash flow is realized. Fixed rental payments simplify budget planning and can be 100% tax deductible against business income.
Rent & Return;
An option we offer consisting of one or more years. It allows the customers to return the equipment with no commitment to purchase.
Rent & Purchase
This option allows you to rent with an option to purchase the equipment following a minimum one year rental period with a percentage of the rental payments deductible from the pre-agreed purchase price.
Rolling Replacement
An option which allows the customer to return equipment to QME following a 3 year rental, and replace with new equipment for another 3 year term or pre-agreed period.
Purchase
We offer bridging units & used equipment for outright sale on an AIWI basis, or we can negotiate a rental-purchase program to suit any individual requirements
Spares & Rebuilds
QME is a world leader in supplying top-quality remanufactured surface and underground mining equipment to the mining industry worldwide.
Our component division supplies and rebuilds heavy-duty transmissions, differentials, converters and drivelines for all Mining and Tunnelling equipment. Spare parts are also supplied to support all equipment.
